
The Louvre Museum in Paris is hosting “Louvre Couture: Objets d’art, objets de mode” an unprecedented exhibition running from January 24 to July 21, 2025.
Exhibition Highlights:
- Fusion of Art and Fashion: For the first time in its history, the Louvre showcases a dialogue between its decorative arts masterpieces and approximately 100 couture and ready-to-wear pieces from iconic fashion houses such as Balenciaga, Givenchy, Dior, and Chanel, spanning from 1949 to the present.
- Curatorial Vision: Olivier Gabet, Director of the Department of Decorative Arts at the Louvre, curated this exhibition to highlight the intersection of contemporary fashion and historical artifacts, emphasizing fashion as a pivotal form of artistic expression.
- Exhibition Space: The display occupies nearly 9,000 square meters, featuring 65 designs alongside various accessories, illuminating the historical dialogue between fashion and art from Byzantium to the Second Empire.
